Charming Anna

“Spring is the time of plans and projects.” ― Leo Tolstoy, 'Anna Karenina'.  

So, one of my projects for this season was to re-read this fabulous novel. I recall it from my School and University years, but obviously wanted to refresh the plot in the light of a freshly-shot movie, carrying the same name. Surely enough, I ended up watching the video version of the book, directed by Joe Wright and starring Keira Knightley and Jude Law. TESSfully impressive, indeed! 

I guess, many of you have seen the movie; however, I decided to give a special focus to the stunning costumes, worn by Anna Karenina (aka Keira Nightly) on the set. No wonders at all here! Talented designer Jacqueline Durran earned her deserved recognitions for the collection both at the 85th Academy Awards and at the 66th British Academy Film Awards, winning nominations for the Best Costume Design. Well, TESSfully done!

In January 2013, a selection of the Oscar-nominated costumes from Anna Karenina went on public and were displayed at the London exhibition.
